CHU Draft Analysis: True prototype "power" forward who oozes explosiveness and seemingly limitless upside. Combines exceptional physical talent with rapidly evolving all around game.
After an exceptional frosh season, where he would have been a top five pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, Griffin has expanded his overall offensive game to include a nice assortment of post moves, consistent mid-range jumper, ballhandling and court vision. Add these weapons to Griffin's ability to finish with authority above the rim and you have a special player with a frightening future. Griffin can start a break with an outlet pass, finish in transition or score in the halfcourt.
While blessed with immense talent, Griffin is notorious for his work ethic and blue collar attitude. Combine these ingredients and the result is a player capable of corralling 20 rebounds on any night and a nightmare to handle. While it will take time for Griffin to become more than an average defender, there is no question he has the goods to succeed.
Sans inconsistent free throw shooting, there appears to be few chinks in Griffin's armor.
