CHU Draft Analysis: Undoubtedly this draft's most explosive player. But, then again he would be the best athlete in virtually any draft. Should win multiple slam dunk titles in the next several years.
Didn't really come on until after his sophomore year in high school and struggled early on at USC, so has a late bloomer history and will need transition time to adjust to the NBA. A pure scorer from rim rattling finishes to deep threes, DeRozan can score in bunches and at times simply cannot be defended.
Struggles at this point with an in-between game and is a sub-par ballhandler and distributor. Will require refinement or may move to the three. Regardless, his unmatchable combination of size, length, quickness and ability to score is too mesmerizing for lottery-bound teams to pass on.
Has the attitude and work ethic to continue improving on weaknesses. In time could very well be a shutdown defender and develop passable playmaking skills.
